THE PROCESS

THE PROCESS

Every homeowner enjoys watching their home grow: from digging the foundation, to framing, to visualizing all the new furniture and wall hangings that will go into their new home.

We have all visualized at times that special moment when we will host our friends and family into our new home.

The whole construction process, although daunting, can be very fulfilling. In order for you to prepare and understand it, here are some of the steps we take at Menso Homes to make sure your dream home is built up to our highest quality standards.

1Stage: Preparing the site and pouring the foundation
The construction crew will prep the site by removing debris, stones, and trees; and then if the house has a basement, they will pour concrete or construct stone walls. During this stage, they will also install energy saving insulation and a moisture prevention system that includes waterproofing and a drainage system. The foundation is meant to hold the entire house. It should therefore be solid, firm, sturdy, and professionally built.
2Stage: Framing
The skeleton of the house (which is the floor systems, walls, and roof systems) will be constructed. The roofs and the siding of the house are also installed at this stage. The plumbing contractors also begin running pipes and wires through the interior walls, floors, ceilings, sewer lines and vents, water supply lines for each fixture, are also installed.
3Stage: Rough Mechanicals
The HVAC heating and cooling ducts are installed at this stage, the plumbing lines are put in, the telephone lines and cable lines are installed, and the wiring for electrical outlets, smoke detectors, and telephone and cable lines are also installed. If it needs to be covered by drywall, it is done at this stage.
4Stage: Insulation and drywall
Inspectors ensure that everything that was done from stages one to three was done following the right rules and regulations and then the insulation is added. During this stage, most people can walk through the house to ensure that everything they specified has been followed. However, it is important to remember that you should consult the supervisor so that your safety is put first and all hazards – which are present at any unfinished construction are kept at bay.
5Stage: Final Details
During this stage, all the trim and exterior finishes are installed. Your yard is also shaped and all the mechanicals i.e. toilets, faucets, cabinets, countertops, sinks, lighting, floor registers, light switches, outlet plugs, etc. are installed during this stage.
6Stage: Walk through before closing
During this stage, your house already has a Certificate of Occupancy and it is ready for you to move in. it is the perfect time to see your house and visualize everything that you want for it. You can now learn every aspect of your home from the supervisor. This means that about a week from this walk through, you can move into your new home!
7Stage: Menso Home Owner!
You can now proudly say that you are a Menso Home owner. Congratulations! Once you have the key, the house is officially yours ..
